Setting up MSN SP
There were discussions with so many people in setting up the MSN SP. Julian Sheppard SP Coordinator talked to Sue Mountstevens Police and Crime Commissioner for Avon and Somerset [Centre] and Sue Dicks Community Safety Manager B&NES.

Midsomer Norton Town Council Civic Awards June 2014
MSN SP received the Community Group of the Year Award in recognition of the impact this newly formed group has made helping transform our town centre at night.

The Commissioning Service for the Midsomer Norton Street Pastors was held at the Town Hall on Saturday 13th October 2013. There was a full hall and support for this Initiative was from all the local churches. There were several speakers for the evening Cllr. Paul Myers, Mayor of Midsomer Norton, Cllr. Paul Crossley, Leader of B&NES Council, Chief Supt. Geoff Spicer, District Commander, Avon and Somerset Constabulary and Rev. Mark Thomas gave the talk on behalf of the Ascension Trust the lead organisation behind the Street Pastors of the UK.
There are 5 Christian Denominations supporting us in the area which is 37 different churches. Some of those church leaders took part in the service. Rev. Christopher Chiplin, Vicar of St John’s Midsomer Norton [Chairman of the Street Pastors Committee], Rev. Martin Blewett, St Mary’s Timsbury and other churches – Pastor Mike Howell, Welton Baptist Church – Rev. Matthew Street, Vicar of Peasedown St John and other churches in the locality and Father Michael, Prior, Downside Abbey.
